Salad Days is the new LP from Canadian singer/songwriter Mac DeMarco. It sounds like a 21st century Harry Nilsson poised as a kind of slacker rocker recording in his living room (which is where DeMarco recorded this April 1st release; his third). The eleven songs come in at just over a half hour with the longer songs easily under 4 minutes, so these melancholic melodies don't get bogged down. The full album is currently available to check out at YouTube. With this release widely accepted among reviewers and appearing at number 1 on the CMJ music chart, we're likely to be hearing allot more of DeMarco on college and modern rock radio this Summer. So you can say you heard it here first. |
