Businesses and organizations play a major role in supporting the work of the Rhode Island Community Food Bank. This September, in honor of Hunger Action Month, the Food Bank has published One Company Can, a booklet of best practices for running food and fund drives. “We’ve been impressed by the creative projects developed by local companies who want to make a difference in the lives of hungry Rhode Islanders,” says Andrew Schiff, Chief Executive Officer of the Rhode Island Community Food Bank. “This booklet provides time-tested and innovative ideas that will help organizations make the best use of their time while increasing their support of the Food Bank.” One Company Can provides tips on how to use a food or fund drive as an opportunity for team building, service experiences, community engagement and good corporate citizenship. It identifies resources necessary to launch a food or fund drive and provides advice on how to ensure a successful outcome. The booklet can be downloaded for free from the Food Bank’s website, or you can request a free printed copy by contacting Cindy Elder at [email protected] or 401-230-1674. |
