Stared in 1999, the Newport Storm Brewery has become a local mainstay of the Rhode Island craft beer scene. Known by many as Rhode Island's Microbrewery, Storm has hand-crafted more than 50 distinctive brews based on the winning recipe of keeping things small, local, unique and sustainable. "Keeping things small‟ is associated not only with their brewing capacity but the size of their distribution. Since Storm's inception, only four states have been in their distribution wheelhouse- Connecticut, Maine Massachusetts and their number one seller, Rhode Island. This week they are excited to announce that distribution will now reach outside New England thanks to a partnership with Nevulis Beverages. With a focus on freshness and quality, the brewery has always been cautious about expansion recognizing that it's not as simple as just sending beer out of state. “The most important thing for us to recognize is that a great deal of planning goes into expansion; shipping needs, beer allocation, promotions, and licensing to name a few,” says Public Relations Coordinator, Clare Simpson-Daniel, “to do it right takes a great deal of commitment, not only by our crew, but by the wholesaler we partner with and Nevulis recognizes that.” Family owned and founded in 2007, Nevulis Beverages is a wholesale importer and distributor of artisan craft beer that services all of Pennsylvania. They love bringing new brands to market and working with breweries to build them into top level brands. With the belief that “Knowledge is Power,” the Nevulis approach is focused on informing and educating the consumer with the belief that the more a person knows about their beer, the more passionate they will become. “We go the extra mile to inform, educate, and enlighten our consumer on quality craft beer,” says business manager Nicole Nevulis, “we‟re committed to providing quality artisan beers from around the world to our consumers.” Distribution throughout Pennsylvania is set for the first week of December and for those of you in the Lancaster, PA area be sure to keep and eye out for a Storm tap takeover on December 19th at Federal Tap House! |
