Raw Sex
Session #7

Last week on Raw Sex, I answered a listeners question for my topic of the week. Reviewed the Doc Johnson Pop Butt Plug and had my special guest Aida Manduley, from The Center for Sexual Pleasure and Health. Want the deets? Take a look inside!

Everyone knows the most effective way to prevent pregnancy is well….No sex at all. But what fun is that? One of our listeners was brave enough to step up and e-mail Raw Sex with her concerns.

During a ladies night, the group began to discuss being on the pill and still using condoms as a secondary measure. It became a hot debate and the group was divided. Some women thought that even taking the pill religiously, you should still use a condom while others thought that being on the pill provided them with enough statistical comfort that they would allow their partners to ejaculate inside of them or use the pull out method.

  • The CDC lists oral contraceptives at a 9% failure rate and condoms at an 18% failure rate (failure rate is 9 out of 100 or 18 out of 100) The pill is difficult to determine the rate of effectiveness because there are so many contributing factors.  Some have to be taken at the same time every day and can be weakened by a dose of antibiotics.  They can also have horrible side effects, including weight gain, emotional and mental distress and serious side effects including death for women over 35.  Surprisingly, the pull out method was in the same line as condoms for effectiveness at a 22% failure rate!

So ladies, I’d say…If you are going to be on the pill, make sure you are responsible enough to use it as directed. Secondly, if you are going to use a secondary measure, a condom would be your best choice but the pull out method isn’t too far behind (not that I recommend that safer is always better than sorry) . When asking most of my female friends although, their primary reason is turning to birth control to avoid pregnency. It seemed that most women in a monogamous relationship would opt out of secondary measures, I think the animal instinct kicks in and we all love the feeling and trust and security that comes along with unprotected sex with the ones we love. Subconsciously, our bodies know that we are on this earth to procreate and we as women find pleasure in receiving their seed, or the idea of it anyways. Not to mention that scientists are discovering multiple health benefits in the consumption of sperm, so you may want to consider a few money shots in the near future…hell even if it doesn’t replace your protein shake…it still looks pretty hot!
