Del's Frozen Lemonade A classic Rhode Island Staple, Del's Frozen Lemonade is the perfect solution to those 100 degree days. Something as simple as frozen lemonade can surprisingly cool one down while supplying the sugar for even the biggest sweet toothed person. There are locations all over RI, from Smith Hill to the Headquarters on Oaklawn Ave in Cranston, with street vendors selling the deliciousness that is Del's all over Providence. Oh, and don’t forget about the alcoholic version, the Narragansett Del's Shandy! 4. Roger Williams Park Zoo Roger Williams Park Zoo has been a fun family adventure since 1872. Located in Providence, it’s a convenient, nicely priced day out for the whole family. Children get the thrill of being 100 feet from an African elephant, and parents get to see their children filled with joy. Roger Williams Zoo offers over 100 animal species, over 40 acres of land, and has continued to add and renovate exhibits for guest, and animal satisfaction. For the 15 dollar fee to enter, it’s worth every penny! 3. Iggy’s Doughboy and Chowder House Ok, if you’ve ever been, visited or live in Lil’ Rhody, you should be well aware of Iggy’s; well because Doughboys are awesome! It’s all about these delicious, perfectly sized portions of deep-fried dough. Their clam cakes, chowder and fish and chips are the best in RI, hands down. Between their locations in Narragansett and Warwick , you are never more than 20 minutes away from the Doughboy and Chowder heaven that is Iggy’s. 2. Rustic Drive In The Rustic Drive In is the perfect spot for date night or with a car load of friends. At 25 dollars a car load, the more people the less expensive it is. Not to mention, when you go see a movie at the drive in, you pay to see not one but two full feature length films! The concession stands provide the movie experience by supplying the popcorn, and the screens are huge. On a hot, sticky summer night, The Rustic Drive In is the perfect place to be. 1. The Beaches What Beach, you may ask? ANY beach, is the answer. Rhode Island is packed with beautiful beachscapes, from Warwick to Newport. Narragansett Bay offers Restaurants, playgrounds, and bright, beautiful sunlight and sand. Don’t forget to pack the SPF; because once you arrive at any beach in R.I, you will want to stay all day! |
