Rhode Island College’s summer youth camps offer active and engaging sports training, concentrated and stimulating experiences in the performing arts, and a variety of indoor and outdoor activities for children. Directed by some of the area’s finest coaches and student-athletes, sports camps at RIC are designed for children ages 7 to 15. Mornings are filled with instruction, competition and fun in baseball, basketball, gymnastics, lacrosse, soccer, softball, tennis and volleyball. Afternoons are complete with swimming and more at the Recreation Center. Each camper will receive a free camp T-shirt along with a drink each day. Lunch is held in RIC’s Donovan Dining Center. Sports camps run Monday through Friday, from June 20 through Aug. 5, at a cost of $180 per week per child, with a half-day option available at $160 per week per child. The Henry Barnard School Summer Explorations Day Camp for children ages 6 to 11 includes sports, games, arts and crafts, cooking, swimming and weekly field trips. RIC’s Summer Performing Arts Camp for youth in grades six through 12 is the essence of the “triple threat,” with classes offered in acting, dance and musical theatre. Camp will be held Monday through Friday, July 11-28, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily, with a showcase performance on July 28 at 7 p.m. Tuition is $595 and no experience is required of participants.
