This week's edition of The Sunday Post focuses on a week of musical madness going on in Rhode Island this week starting tomorrow at 990WBOB's Mondays On Blast at The Spot on 101 Richmond Street in Providence. The festivities last until Saturday April 27th at Firehouse 13 on 41 Central Street in Providence with a 6 band finale. All the proceeds will be going to Girls Rock Rhode Island and The Rhode Island Music Educators Association to benefit music education in Rhode Island and this will be definitely be the biggest benefit to ever hit The Ocean State.

Clyde Lawrence: Clyde Lawrence is a musician, songwriter, and native New Yorker. He began playing piano at age four and started writing music soon after. His songs have been featured in films like Miss Congeniality, Music & Lyrics and Did You Hear About the Morgans?. He's a soul/r&b prodigy who is in his sophomore year at Brown University and he's also a semi-finalist in 990WBOB's Battle Of The Bands. Rich Ferri & The Wealth On The Water: Rich Ferri is an indie/folk musician from Rhode Island. In May 2012, he self-released his full-length album titled The Last One Out of This Town which he wrote and recorded in his home studio, performing nearly all of the instrumentation himself. Under the title Rich Ferri & The Wealth on the Water, album drummer Mike Murdock and bassist Denis Murray join Rich on stage to recreate the full-band sound of the album. The Passionate Mammals: A very inventive lo-fi band that's comparable to a mix of styles similar to The Arcade Fire, The Velvet Underground and The B-52's, The Passionate Mammals will definitely open your eyes to something that's wonderfully different. Volcano Kings: Volcano Kings are an instrumental band based in Pawtucket, RI that fuses the traditional sounds and ideas of dark-jazz-noir, blues, 1960's garage rock, surf rock, science fiction, western soundtracks and industrial/noise music. They have a continuous output of albums that you can give a listen on their Bandcamp page and enjoy.

Pixels:  Pixels is an alternative rock band from Providence that sings love songs to America, elegies about the twentieth-century and odes to heartbreak. They are one of the hottest up and coming bands in the city and you can check out their tunes on their Bandcamp page to get your brain melted.

Nymphidels: A two-piece original rock from Providence, RI that incorporate old school alt-rock styles and poppy rhythms to create awesome music, you can't miss Jess Maroney and Pat Flanagan when they do their thing. A band that is never jaded and always enthusiastic always brings that feeling out in their songs, but there are also a few somber ones that'll keep them honest. A band that is very happy to be part of The Artistic Explosion Music Festival, check out their EP A Band In Places right here and put a smile on your face.

The Denver Boot: Like the last cigarette of the night, The Denver Boot’s brand of pensive folk invigorates the body and provokes the mind. William Moretti’s carefully crafted lyrics suggest empty whiskey bottles, family ties broken, and lost love. With hints of country and indie rock n roll, the music breaks folk traditions while staying earnest to its values. Shotgun: A kickass blues band from Providence lead by the songwriting skills of guitarist and vocalist Evan St. Martin, these guys have already had the pleasure of opening for founding member and drummer of The Allman Brothers' Jaimoe and his Jasssz Band at Fete a few months ago. Gertrude Atherton: An all-girl punk rock trio from Providence, RI, they like yelling stories at you about women who turn into gnarled birds. Because of that, these girls are a must see when they open up the 5th night of The Artistic Explosion Music Festival at AS220 on April 26th. This one's for all the riot grrrls out there, check out their Bandcamp page to give the track "Ghastly Tramp" a listen.

SONGS: SONGS is a drum and bass duo based out of Providence, Rhode Island with Justin Enis on bass and Eric Ayers on drums and lead vocals. Drawing inspiration from their musical roots along with their passion for the local music scene, SONGS has managed to create a new direction in sound; an experience you not only hear, but feel. Olneyville Sound System: Formed in 1996, Adam Autry and Dan St. Jacques have been causing bass and drum reverberations in the Providence underground for years. Minimal rhythm tracks , sometimes accompanied by sax, synth, or harmonica forge original soundscapes, jagged noise, and pulsing beats. Pretty much, it's gonna be crazy. Weak Teeth: Fast, furious and aggressive hardcore punk rock from Providence, Weak Teeth promises to make you mosh in no time. Brothers Jon & Mike Pagano with Jon on guitar and Mike on bass & vocals along with Chris Carrera on guitar and Neil King on drums together make a force to be reckoned with. Huge Face: Huge Face is a rock band based out of the “New England Triangle” of Boston, Providence and Worcester, they have been playing together since September 2012. These guys have a really cool indie rock sound and two drummers to go along with it. Check out their self-titled EP on their Bandcamp page to hear a kickass group of young musicians.

Littlefoot: A dream-pop shoegaze band out of Providence lead by Erica Sutherland on guitar and vocals, the wonderful songs she sings can definitely touch your heart. The likes of Roz Raskin from The Rice Cakes will be most likely joining her as well. Check out Littlefoot's Bandcamp page to hear a couple tracks and have your mind taken to another dimension.

Consuelo's Revenge: A band that blends gypsy, blues, folk and Americana styles together, Consuelo's Revenge are the sound that the midnight storm makes outside your door when you're alone and you've had one too many glasses of bourbon. Tapestries: Tapestries is an indie assortment of sound and locality, as well as the moniker for Mike DeCosta of Pawtucket, RI. DeCosta has been writing and performing for several years with a wide instrumental repertoire. He has created many songs with the help of various contributing artists also from Rhode Island and you can hear them all here on Tapestries' Bandcamp page.
