Top Five Is Alive: Remakes and Reboots

Last week we talked about a reboot of a series near and dear to my heart. This week I present my top five remakes that should not be. Top 5 Remakes and/or Reboots that should not be!

5. Batman Vs. Superman: Dawn Of Justice (2015) - But Batman was just remade. You say. How many Batman Origin stories can there be? You ask. Well at least one more, as Batman is being rebooted into the Superman Franchise in the second installment of "Man Of Steel." Directed by Zach Snyder. I genuinely like Zach as a director and enjoyed his other super hero adaptations. Yes, even "300" and nobody likes that one! .I do think however that Batman and yes even Superman, have been over done. At the very least it is a Batman Vs. Superman movie and will include Wonder Woman, which I am looking forward to. I guess you could say I am waiting for Gal Gadot. Though I could probably do without it because I know in my heart of hearts that DC may never make a cohesive Justice League filmography.  Or at least I stopped caring at Green Lantern.  

4. Carrie (2013) - Now I know this one already happened but shockingly enough, I have yet to see it. I enjoyed the original even though it suffered the fate of being a Stephen King novel turned film, it was one of the good ones. There was already a made for TV version of this film that sort of ruined it for the whole class for me. I do like Juliane Moore as the Mother and there are some remakes I enjoy. Though I am not sure I like the odds here. 

3. Gremlins (in development) - The fact that there isn't any information on this one is almost scary. The 1984 flick is one of my all time faves! I am a sucker for the humor of Director Joe Dante. I feel as though the original holds up and some things should remain sacred. Especially Gremlins. 

2. Highlander (in development) - There can be only... several? Huh? Get it? Another one I was comfortable with being left alone. However, Ryan Reynolds was involved and has dropped out, so that is a huge check in the win column.  

1. IT (in development*) - Why do I think that a movie that would seemingly benefit from a remake should not be remade? Because honestly the original was a three hour snore fest that left me jaded. I just don't seem to care about this story. Scary clowns are scary. Let's just keep our fingers crossed that they at least go practical on the latest Pennywise incarnation. 



*The last three were still in development and will hopefully remain there until the are at least tolerable. I'm talking maybe Original Dare Devil quality at least, but definitely not Elektra.
