Mya Destinee Amid surging support for the feminist movement, we see --more and more -- fearless females emerging from the ashes like the phoenix, reclaiming what’s theirs: equality. Thankfully, the media, has been chiming in, more and more, highlighting fearless females around the globe. Body shaming, slut shaming, shaming women for any reason, is increasingly becoming less and less acceptable, and the tides are turning when it comes to the perception of rape, assault and holding aggressors responsible . We’ve all started acting like civilized human beings, teaching our sons not to rape -- teaching our women that math is good! I want to highlight the fact that change is happening. In no small part to the women who have fallen victim to crime, injustice and recklessness of other people. I Introduce to you, Fearless F*ckin Female month on Under the Covers. We will be focusing on the females that, well, kick ass. We’re all aware of the Ronda Rousey’s and Caitlin Jenners of the world, which isn’t to say they aren't important to the ever changing and evolving views of women today. This month will focus on the everyday women doing extraordinary things. From Female Tattoo Artists to Librarians/Secret Web Cam Girls to women who compete in Obstacle course racing. We will focus on the women who are breaking the mold every single day.
The women who are living in the struggle every single day matter because without them, without us, there would be a severe lack of support for the women in the media who are the faces of the feminist movements. It would be like baseball without men: a percentage would be female, but the core audience would be missing. These women matter because they are working everyday to change minds and prove that women are equal, women deserve respect. As Ronda Rousey says, “I’m not a do nothin bitch”. That is the kind of mindset that is taking over the idea that women need to be supported, financially, taken care of and treated like a fragile doll who should be seen, but never actually alive with feelings. She shuts down her body shamers by saying “ listen, when people say my body looks masculine, I’m like, just because my body wasn’t developed to fuck millionaires does not mean I’m masculine. I think it’s femininely badass as fuck because there isn’t a single muscle in my body that isn’t for a purpose.” THAT’s the kind of mindset that every day women are adopting. We are stopping, and thinking about the way we are treated, and we are stopping and thinking of solutions to stop it. In Rousey’s case, she built her body into a fucking battle bot, capable of destroying pretty much anything that stands in her way. Others are grouping together to be stronger than a single unit. It seems we are all on the same boat, fighting for a better future for us, our sons and our daughters, with the same goal in mind: that not a single female on earth has to suffer from the injustices brought on by simply not being born with a penis. And listen, I hear all the people who say feminism is man hate. It’s not. It shouldn’t be anyways. There are women out there with the sole purpose of tearing down other females, so it's not like we don't know we play into the mistreatment of women. We allow people, men, women, who ever to treat us less than, and that mind set is the mind set is the most dangerous. That’s the mindset that I hope to help change with Fearless F*ckin Female Month. Tune in every Tuesday this month at 9pm, only on 990WBOB.COM, to hear from your everyday gals sharing their stories. Happy Fearless F*ckin Female Month! |
