WATCH: RI's Mat Franco Reaches America's Got Talent Final

Johnston native, URI graduate, and up-close magician Mat Franco has qualified as one of six finalists who will perform September 16th on the "America's Got Talent" Season 9 Finale. The show will air Tuesday at 9 pm on NBC.

Franco who has been performing illusions and card tricks since childhood, has repeatedly "wowed" the judges for the NBC reality game show. This years judges are: Howie Mandel, Howard Stern, Heidi Klum, and Melanie Brown.

Franco and the other five finalists will perform for their last chance to win America's vote. His competition includes: 

• AcroArmy (Acrobats) 
  
• Emily West (Singer)
  
• Miguel Dakota (Singer/guitarist)
  
• Quintavious Johnson (Child singer)
  
• Sons of Serendip (Band)

The Season 9 winner will be announced in the series finale on September 17th at 8 pm. The winner receives a cash prize of $1 million and will headline a Las Vegas show.
