WBOB Sports' quick hit analyses and breakdowns of trending sports topics -- in the style of a character-limited Tweet. This week, we take a look at New England college basketball... Let's check in with New England's five biggest college hoop programs ahead of the start to the 2015-16 season! Ram StrongDan Hurley for President! The URI Rams, behind E.C. Matthews, will make its first appearances in the Top 25 rankings and at March Madness in nearly twenty years! Look for Lamar Odom court side for round 1. Friar AwayThe motto for this year's PC Friars: Get It Dunn! (I'm sure Kris Dunn was compensated for use of his likeness). They won't. Departures, graduations, and a weak non-conference schedule will keep them at the NIT or below. Sore EaglesWith no tourney appearances or winning seasons since 2009, The Eagles' woes will continue under second year coach, Jim Christian. With 8 Freshman and only 2 Seniors, the Eagles won't soar until 2017, at least. Cereal LosersExpect a lacklustre, middle-of-the-pack season from Derek Kellogg's Minutemen this season. The 8th year head coach and UMass alum has not built a team to contend, and has no clear direction. Kellogg may be en route to the chopping block in Amherst. UConn Do ItUConn does not miss many NCAA Tournaments. When they do, they bounce back quickly. They had most recently missed the Big Dance in 2010, and followed up with a National Championship in 2011. They were left out of the Tourney in 2015... Jus' sayin'!
