348 attempts, 2097 rushing yards, and 12 rushing touchdowns, Adrian Peterson fell nine yards short of the rushing record held by Eric Dickerson (2106) but he did not fall short of the MVP award this season. He beat out Peyton Manning collecting 30 1/2 votes to Peyton's 19 1/2.

After an injury plagued last season, "All Day" Adrian Peterson out performed everybody and in my opinion single handedly took Minnesota the playoffs, A.P. had 10 one-hundred yard plus rushing games and averaged 6.0 Yards per attempt. The notable thing about this is that the NFL of recent Years has been a Quarterback driven League as of late and it is nice to see a Running Back like Adrian Peterson win the award.

The Adrian Peterson comparison coming out of college in the 2007 season was none other than Emmit Smith. Judging by his career thus far i would say it is pretty spot on. In his six seasons with the Vikings, Peterson has 76 rushing touchdowns, 8849 rushing yards, and a 99.4 career average rushing yards per game. I do believe AP is on his way to the Hall of Fame one day, but let’s enjoy a great Running Back in his prime do what he does best "all day".
