By Scoop Fox They say that the coach is supposed to be the leader of the team. He’s to set an example of what it means to exemplify both professionalism and the spirit of the game. But in the past couple of days, we seen two outrageously gaffes by two head coaches in two different sports that make you go 'what the hell were they thinking.' To keep in with the Thanksgiving spirit, we shall now look at these two turkeys...I mean coaches. Turkey #1: Jason Kidd, Brooklyn Nets Head Coach Last Thursday in a game against the L.A. Lakers, Brooklyn Nets head coach Jason Kidd committed what appeared to be a big no-no as a head coach. With his team down 96-94 with 8.3 seconds left in the game and no time outs, Jason Kidd proceeded to ‘drop’ his beverage onto the court. Now we all know that you can’t play basketball on a wet court due to the risk of a player slipping and severely injuring themselves. So time had to be called and there was a stoppage in play. As the clean-up crew was doing their thing, Jason Kidd used the time stoppage to diagnose a play with his team that ended in typical Net failure. However though he tries to deny it, it seemed that was the move of a desperate man trying to save his job. His only reward was paying a $50,000 fine. Oh the Nets lost the game 99-94. There you have it folks, two big turkeys served up on the Thanksgiving Day stage. Now I ask you, who is the biggest turkey. Is it the bumbling, sweaty-palm Jason Kidd or the poor, lost fool Mike Tomlin? You decide. |
