The Super Bowl is the one game, that even the most novice of sports fans can enjoy. The one competition, the whole nation unites to watch. The evening were everyone is an expert, and hindsight is sharper than 20/20. This will mark the first time that the Super Bowl has been played outdoors and in the cold, snowy weather rather than in outdoors in LA or South Beach. To say the conditions are not a factor, would be major fabrication. All the talk leading into this game has been about, the potential temperature, and weather conditions. Even the odds makers are factoring in Mother Nature and her potential wrath.
However the WBOB Sports Dept fears no forecast. The team spent their free time compiling there thoughts, to help you the fan, become more knowledgeable. By Travis Barrett That one was tough to watch, and not just because it meant having to stomach a Montreal win on Garden ice. It was particularly tough to sit through because it brought to light many of the things about this Boston Bruins squad that we’d either glossed over in the previous 10 days of goal-scoring giddiness or simply hoped had disappeared from their game entirely. The Canadiens’ 4-1 win, however, likely proved that the Bruins are who we thought they were. Johnny Sunchips Although the marquee match up in the NBA had all eyes on South Beach, where Kevin Durant and his Oklahoma City Thunder took the hardwood opposite Lebron James and the two time defending champion Miami Heat, a more competitive showdown took place on Thursday between two longtime rivals. The Philadelphia 76ers, on a seven foot stop and pop jumper by Evan Turner, defeated the Celtics, 95-94, and in the process, leapfrogged Boston in the Atlantic Division, leaving the green in sole possession of last place. Losers of 19 of their last 22, and nary a victory since January 22nd at Washington, the futility is starting to take a toll on the pesky Celts. "Everybody needs a win and we need a win more than anybody", said Gerald Wallace. "We're starting to slide down that hill". One part of that hill is dropping them closer to the NBA cellar, the other is that any team, especially a young one like the Celtics, needs something to build on. A win seems just the thing to do so. Pal - Pal@990WBOB.com Protection. We all need it. Some of us are here, because of a lack of it. When it comes to proffesional sports, experts work day and night to develop new and effective ways to protect athletes. From bike helmets to foot protection, todays competetors are safer then ever. However they could always be safer, which is why Major League Baseball has approved for the first time, head protection for it's pitchers. Pal - Pal@990WBOB.com It's been a week of emotional highs and lows for the Celtics, after welcoming in former C's Paul Pierce and Kevin Garnett back to Boston. The two were back at their old place of work, for the first time Sunday, just two days after they were thrashed in the same arena and four days after their last win. Just under a week ago things seem to settling into a routine for the Celtics. Although (as expected) they have struggled to compile wins, Boston had played most opponents though, never submitting to defeat. Even against the Heat last week in Miami, Boston played hard. Despite losing, they held their heads high and traveled to D.C. the next night to beat the Wizards. Yet ironically it was the trip home that sparked a change in team attitude. For the first time in NFL history the Super Bowl will be played outdoor in winter conditions. That we already know, as we also are aware that fans can expect temperatures to be in the mid 30s at best for the 6:30 PM eastern kick off. However it's what the NFL didn't know when scheduling this mayhem, the is the interesting part of this tale. Just a little over a month ago there were seven coaching vacancies opened (Texans, Titans, Buccaneers, Redskins, Lions, Vikings, Browns). Now all those positions have been filled. By Ryan Fox -- @Spider_Fox87 Up to that point, there were many speculations on who was going to be the next Cleveland Browns head coach. Some speculated that Denver Broncos defensive coordinator would take the job. Others thought New England Patriots offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels, an Ohio native, or Arizona Cardinals defensive coordinator Todd Bowles would take the position. Instead all three coordinators turned the job down. For a while it seemed like nobody want the Cleveland Browns’ head coach.
By Harry Dunne Kellen Winslow Jr. surely is a Jack Off All trades.
The Jets' tight end was arrested after a witness reported seeing a "black male in a black Cadillac Escalade pleasuring himself." He was in a Target parking lot. See the East Hanover Township Police Report after the jump... |
