Are The Celtics Really Better Without Rondo?

The beginning of the 12-13 NBA season all Boston media and fans kept talking about is how great Rondo is, the streak he had, and how he is the centerpiece of the Boston Celtics. Since then number 9 has faced unfair scrutiny from an injury and has people saying to trade Rajon Rondo. Well Celtics fans you could not be more wrong.

Rajon Rondo has helped this team to not one but two finals appearances and was pretty clutch in every series. he was ranked going into this season as the third best point guard in the league behind Chris Paul and Derrick Rose. The guy also has a career average double double and a career average of two steals a game.

Avery Bradley has emerged as great complimentary piece to the Celtics. Yes I said it, if you remember last year the Celtics were without Avery Bradley and we had that dramatic exit to the Miami Heat which resulted in a Lebron James Championship. Rondo in the loss of the last game of that series had 44 points, 8 Rebounds, 10 assists, and 3 steals.  Garnett, Pierce, and Allen did not have that many points combined. Yes Avery Bradley should be a starter for the Celtics but not Rondos replacement.

Celtics fans even if Garnett and Pierce retire after this season are starting roster with out any free agent moves would be PG Rondo SG Bradley SF Green PF Sullinger C Bass. That is not a bad starting line up plus you would have over 16 million of cap to use. As a fan of the Celtics keep Rondo, let free Agency and the draft fill the voids for next season, and stop trying to drive your star players out of town.
