The regular season has come to a close in the NFL marking the end of a few head coaches tenors. In a "what have you done for me league", the shelf life of a head coach is not long. The biggest name to get a pink slip today was Washington Redskins coach Mike Shanahan. Owner Dan Snyder said in a statement "Redskins fans deserve a better result, We thank Mike for his efforts on behalf of the Redskins. We will focus on what it takes to build a winning team, and my pledge to this organization and to this community is to continue to commit the resources and talent necessary to put this team back in the playoffs." Snyder has often been unpredictable when it comes to his off season moves. Throwing money at the clubs problems rather then plausible solutions. Shanahan failed to make the Redskins competitive in 2013 and publicly battled with franchise player RG3. No word yet on who the candidates are for the vacant position. |
