The regular season has come to a close in the NFL marking the end of a few head coaches tenors. In a "what have you done for me league", the shelf life of a head coach is not long.

The biggest name to get a pink slip today was Washington Redskins coach Mike Shanahan. Owner Dan Snyder said in a statement "Redskins fans deserve a better result, We thank Mike for his efforts on behalf of the Redskins. We will focus on what it takes to build a winning team, and my pledge to this organization and to this community is to continue to commit the resources and talent necessary to put this team back in the playoffs." Snyder has often been unpredictable when it comes to his off season moves. Throwing money at the clubs problems rather then plausible solutions. Shanahan failed to make the Redskins competitive in 2013 and publicly battled with franchise player RG3.  No word yet on who the candidates are for the vacant position.

The Cleveland Browns have not been a relevant football organization since the days of Bernie Kosar and Ernest Byner. Hence the reason patience are at a minimal in the dog pound. Rob Chudzinski was fired after just one season. Chudzinski lost multiple quarterbacks to injuries, and although they showed signs of life, the Browns failed yet again to be contender. "We appreciate Chud's passion for the Browns, and we have great respect for him both personally and professionally," the team said in a statement this morning. Ken Whisenhunt and Josh McDaniels appear to be the leading candidates to replace Chudzinski.

It was no surprise to hear the Vikings had decided to part ways with head coach Leslie Frazier. After a disappointing season, and his struggles to find a viable quarterback, Frazier's time is up. The Vikings are said to be interested in Jack Del Rio and Adam Gase both currently employed as Denver coordinators.
