Montreal Canadiens goaltender Carey Price capped off his historic night at the NHL awards by winning the Hart Trophy as the league MVP.Price became the first goaltender since Jose Theodore in 2002 to win the Hart.
The 27-year-old also won the Vezina Trophy and Ted Lindsay Award but said he'd trade them all in for the Stanley Cup.
Price won the Hart in a rout, finishing far ahead of Alex Ovechkin of the Washington Capitals and John Tavares of the New York Islanders. The Lindsay Award represented Price's overall brilliance, but the Hart was a nod to just how valuable he was to the Canadiens. Price won 44 games and had nine shutouts as Montreal finished first in the Atlantic Division. |
