Celtics Acquire Will Bynum from Detroit

The Boston Celtics announced today that they have acquired guard Will Bynum from the Detroit Pistons in exchange for center Joel Anthony.

Bynum, a 6’0” guard, appeared in 56 games for the Detroit Pistons last season where he averaged 8.7 points, 1.8 rebounds and 3.9 assists in 18.8 minutes per game. 

Bynum, who is entering his eighth NBA season, has posted career averages of 8.2 points, 1.6 rebounds and 3.3 assists in 18.5 minutes per game. He recorded 10 or more points in 22 of the 56 games that he appeared in last season with a season-high of 19 points against Washington on October 30.

 During the course of the 2013-14 season he led the Pistons in assists in 14 contests and tied his career-high with eight rebounds at Philadelphia on January 10.
