CELTICS REPORT #NBA

The Boston Celtics stopped their miserable nine game loosing streak at home Wed night against Toronto. For Boston, the win over the East leading Raptors was their 11th in a row against their Canadian rivals. Ironically the win came just hours after the C's announced another big trade, sending their most dependable scorer, Jamal Crawford out of town. Boston also returned Rajon Rondo to the active list as well yesterday. In fact  there was no shortage of headlines at the Garden last night.

Celtics made a three team trade Wednesday, sending  Jamal Crawford and MarShon Brooks to Golden State. The Warriors sent Toney Douglas to the Heat. In return Miami sent Joel Anthony to Boston along with a conditional first round pick next year and a 2016 second round pick. Anthony was a salary dump for Miami, for Boston the big man could see a significant amount of court time.

Celtics forward Jared Sullinger put up 25 points and 20 rebounds for the first team double double since Kevin Garnett's first game with the Celtics back in 2007. The 21 year old second year man had a career night, becoming only the sixth man in Celtics history to join the 20/20 club.

Rajon Rondo practiced for the first time with the Celtics prior to a game Wednesday. Although the star point guard dressed for the match up against Toronto he was not expected and did not play. Rondo is set to make his season debut and return from a torn ACL, Friday at home against the Lakers.

Rondo was also named the December Kia Community Assist Award Winner.
