Exactly one week after Johan Santana threw the first no-hitter in Mets history, the Seattle Mariners completed a combined no-hitter. Kevin Millwood led the way pitching six hitless frames. The last three were pieced together by five relievers. This is one of the most difficult accomplishments in all of sports considering there are some 4860 games played each year and usually less than three to four no hitters thrown in a good season. Millwood and the Mariners no-no is an even rarer gem. The last combined no hitter was thrown in 2003 when Houston blanked the Yankees in NY. Seattle's joint effort was only the tenth multi pitcher no hitter in major league history.
