By Chad Hoyle Matt Kuchar took the top prize in Dublin, Ohio this weekend in the PGA Memorial Tournament for his second tour win of the year. The victory also boosts Kuchar's ranking to 4th best in the world, and poises him as a favorite to take the US Open in two weeks. Kuchar had a commanding lead going into the final day of play Sunday, his closest competition coming in the form of Kevin Chappell, who birdied his last four holes. Kuchar ultimately won the event by two strokes, answering Chappell with his own birdie on 18. Never completely absent from the spotlight, Tiger Woods' performance was notable as a surefire blemish on his legendary record. Considered as the favorite to win by most, Woods posted an abysmal 8 over par- the second worst tournament score in his career. Notables: Adam Scott (-3), Bubba Watson (E), Ricky Fowler (+2) |
