By Scoop Fox It's finally a nice, sunny day in New England. But that can always change on a dime. But there's one thing that is guaranteed: Scoop Fox's Weekly PawSox update. So here it is: Weekly Stats Update Currently as it stands, the Paw Sox are sitting in first place in the North Division at 43-28. They are 5.5 games ahead of the Leigh Valley Iron Pigs and 6 games back of the Indianapolis Indians for best record in IL. The 43-28 record includes a 20-15 home record and a 23-13 road road. On the diamond, Top 10 prospect Bryce Brentz leads the team in at-bats (252), hits (66), home runs (14), and RBIs (49). Jeremy Hazelbaker still leads the team in steals with 19 swipes in 22 attempts (6th in the IL) and strikeouts (66). In batting average, CF Jackie Bradley Jr. takes the crown (.310)* as well as OBP (.412)*. DH Mark Hamilton leads the team in slugging percentage (.529)* and OPS (.921)*. (Qualification: Have 100 ABs and played in 25+ games) On the mound, Allen Webster leads the way for all Pawsox starting pitchers with a 5-1 record, and an ERA of 2.98 while him and Terry Doyle are tied with most strikeouts with 56 apiece. Speaking of Terry Doyle, he's now the workhorse of the rotation, putting in a team high with 70.1 innings pitched while RHP Rubby De La Rosa is tied with fellow RHP Stephen Wright for most games started (9). Now with fellow reliever Pedro Beato up in Beantown, Ryan Rowland-Smith is the top PawSox relief pitcher. He leads the entire bullpen in wins (5), ERA (0.67), and innings pitched (40.1). Closer Anthony Carter has been solid in the ninth inning, notching a team high 10 saves as well as leading all pitchers with 26 game appearances. To the Bigs and Back Guess who's back in Pawtucket...again Since the last PawSox Updates, things have been pretty active down in Pawtucket. Once at McCoy, they start a 4-game series with the Mud Hens from 6/25-6/28 before hosting the former Scranton-Wilkes Barre Yankees (now Railriders) for a 5-game series.
