ITS THAT TIME!

In 67 shining moments, we are about to see some of the most exciting 18 days in sports, otherwise known as March  Madness.  68 teams, all with hopes of glory... to some, glory comes in the form of making it there in the first place. Teams like Norfolk State (1st Appearance), South Dakota State (1st),  LIU-Brooklyn (2nd), and Harvard (2nd) are happy to be going to the big dance, and anything they accomplish from this point is simply bonus.

On the other hand, there are teams with much higher aspirations. Kentucky, UNC, Duke, and Kansas, who are perennial contenders consider anything less than a trip to New Orleans as failure.

Just watch/listen to this Gus Johnson montage, and try not to get goosebumps! I dare you!
Other exciting elements include Gus Johnson, First and Second Round Marathons, and of course BRACKETS!

Everyone fills one (or several) out, most with little or no knowledge the teams involved.  While it seems that "less is more", a little knowledge cant hurt.  So, here are a few tidbits that may help you out this March:

1. Blue Teams Win
Of the Past 10 NCAA Champions, Six had blue as their primary, and three had it as a secondary color.

2. 9 Seeds!
The number 9 Seed has defeated the 8 seed 54% of the time, making these the most likely upsets.

3. Eight or Better
The 1985 Villanova Wildcats were the lowest seed (8) to ever win the tourney.
