-The Dip The Boston Bruins headed into The Bell Centre on top of the Atlantic Division and second overall in the Eastern Conference behind the Pittsburgh Penguins. Even with the new alignment and unbalanced schedule this is only the second time these two rivals have laced them up against each other this season. They will face-off 3 more times this season, the next 2 in Boston and the last game in Montreal where the first 2 took place. (Opening night a 6-3 victory for the B's and last nights 2-1 loss)
Last night the Bruins(2 games in hand) fell out of first place to the rival Habs. Gregory Campbell opened up the scoring in the first period with his second goal of the season.. Tomas Pleknec answered in the second with his tenth and Max Pacioretty scored the game winner at 17:42 in the second with his eleventh of the season. The third period was a scoreless one not for lack of effort by both offenses a total of 21 shots were peppered at Carey Price(32 total saves) and Tuuka Rask(25 total saves). There was a second loss on the ice last night, Johnny Boychuk went down in the first period after being drilled into the boards by Pacioretty, who was penalized on the play. Boychuk was on the ice for 10 minutes before being carted off and brought to Montreal General Hospital for observations. Johnny did fly back with the team and will be looked at by American doctors today. It was just one of those games. Two good hockey teams playing for 60 minutes and the outcome could have been 2-1 the other way just as easily. These are the games that, as a hockey fan, excite you. I didn't even realize I was missing the Texans lose to the Jaguars, and neither should you, its ICE TIME get into it! Enjoy your hockey now, the Olympics are coming to screw up the schedule and when they return every television station will be talking about the new MLB season. Hockey Rules! |
