Kevin-Sent: Seven Bold Predictions

9/6/2013

The 2013 NFL Season kicked off last night... and it was quite the spectacle.  Many people believed that the Ravens' defense would take a step backwards with the departure of their linebacking stalwart, Ray Lewis, but not many expected them to give up 49 points to the Denver Broncos.  So if this first matchup is any indication of the types of surpirises we can expect this season, then buckle up! It is going to be a fun ride!

Here are my Seven Bold Predictions for the 2013 NFL Season... as always, in 140 characters or less:

7) Seattle Stew

Last Season, we saw Pete Carroll and Russell Wilson lead the 'Hawks to playoff glory. Expect a less-than-mediocre encore from Seattle in 2013.

6) The Motown Lowdown

With a strong defensive front 7, and the addition of Reggie Bush on offense, the Detroit Lions will win the NFC North

5) Captain Kirk

RGIII's knee is not going to hold up. However, expect Kirk Cousins to take the reigns and lead the 'Skins to the playoffs.

4) Faultimore

Thursday night was no fluke. The Ravens are no longer a contender. Look for the defending champs to finish towards the bottom of the AFC.

3) Stay of Rexecution

The Jets will be surprisingly mediocre. While they won't make the playoffs, they will be good enough to keep Rex Ryan employed... for now.

2) Lucky Break

Peyton Manning is going to use his new toy, Wes Welker, to put up incredible numbers... but his replacement, Andrew Luck will win the MVP.

1) Third Time's A Charm!

This year's Super Bowl will feature a very familiar matchup... and will also be the first time a team plays a Super Bowl at home (See below for full season prediction):
