LISTEN: Koch on URI Basketball

Parente & Pal welcomed its newest contributor, Providence Journal sports writer Bill Koch, to the show to give us the lowdown on what to expect this year from the University of Rhode Island's basketball team while trying to figure out what's gone wrong the past two decades for the school's floundering football program.

Optimism is running high in Kingston this year for the basketball team thanks to a group of young, blossoming stars such as sophomore guard E.C. Matthews (right), who finished last season as the Atlantic 10 conference's Co-Rookie of the Year, but football continues to spiral in the wrong direction, now 0-11 this season with only two winning seasons in 25 years.
