Lochte Comes Clean, Apologizes for Robbery Saga Through Social Media

What was initially concern for the safety of athletes in Brazil, the Ryan Lochte Rio Robbery saga has played out in the media over the last week, and quickly devolved into a tall tale told by a group of drunk swimmers at a gas station.

While elements of the four-time gold medalists story were true, it was the false elements that caused concern -- and near international incident -- in the revocation of passports from members of the Lochte clan, as the titular character fled safely to the U.S.

Friday, however, Lochte came clean, admitted that he had embellished in his recount of the events of August 14, and offered an apology for his actions.
