Rangers Claim Carp

He wanted out of Boston and he got it. Platoon outfielder Mike Carp was designated for assignment Friday by the Red Sox. The one time acclaimed Mariners prospect seemed to have resurrected his career as a clutch role player for the World Champion Sox. However as Boston struggled this season so did Carp. Unhappy with his playing time Carp publicly asked to be moved late in July. Boston as unable to package Carp in any of their deadline deals so the club & Carp parted ways on August 1st.

However Carp did not have to wait long for a knew assignment, The Texas Rangers Sunday claimed the 28 year old left handed hitting outfielder.
