Since the combine a lot has changed since my early bird mock draft. I feel this draft is going to be extremely complex and constantly changing due to trades, combine production, pro days, and free agency. Here is my second stab at an NFL Mock Draft... 1.) Kansas City Chiefs- Luke Joekel OT, Texas A&M
It is no surprise that the Chiefs will be taking Joekel any more they want to protect newly acquired QB Alex Smith and they will need and O-Line to do so. Pretty safe bet with this pick. 2.) Jacksonville Jaguars- Sharrif Floyd DT, Florida- Jacksonville needs to hit a home run in this draft on the defensive side of the ball. Floyd has done nothing but elevate his stock to be the number two pick. 3.) Oakland Raiders- Geno Smith QB, West Virginia- Normally I would be hesitant to say the Raiders would take a QB with all the money they have invested in Quarterback position right now. The Raiders need a leader more than any other need on there list. Geno can have an opportunity to wait a year and get his mechanics in order in Oakland they have Palmer and Pryor right now I feel Palmer will be traded or take a pay cut either way the need to give the fans something to look forward to. 4.) Philadelphia Eagles- Dion Jordan DE/OLB, Oregon- No surprise here Jordan had injury concerns but a flourishing performance brings him up to a number four pick. The Eagles need defense to compete in the NFC East they can be an explosive team with the right pieces, this is a good start. 5.) Detroit Lions- Demarcus Milliner CB, Alabama- How bad does Detroit want Milliner? If you ask me they are hoping he slips here and have been rumored to try and trade up to secure acquiring Milliner. They need Secondary help as well as Linebacker help but Milliner is almost a shoe in to the Lions. 6.) Cleveland Browns- Bjoern Werner DE, Florida State- Werner is an obvious choice at six for the Browns. In my opinion he has the most upside and the Browns need help on the Defensive line. 7.) Arizona Cardinals- Erick Fisher OT, Central Michigan- I do believe the Cardinals may trade down to acquire Geno Smith, but since I am just going pick for pick I will say fisher is the best on the board for Arizona. 8.) Buffalo Bills- Jarvis Jones, OLB, Georgia- The Bills don not need a QB the need defense. Fitzpatrick was not the guy who gave up 20+ points to opposing offenses. Jones will be an incredible NFL LB and I feel Buffalo will get the best kept secret of the draft. 9.) New York Jets- Corradelle Patterson WR, Tennessee- Anyone think the Jets are gonna take another underdeveloped QB from USC? No, me either the Jets are stuck with Sanchez for one more season they are gonna give him a weapon on Offense to see if this will work for him. I highly doubt it but will see. 10.) Tennessee Titans- Chance Warmack OG, Alabama- The Titans want to open the running game up with CJ2K this year the need to make the interior line better for that to happen. Warmack is a great fit here. 11.) San Diego Chargers- Lane Johnson OT, Oklahoma- Johnson is the third best tackle in the draft but this class is deep. He can play left or right, I think the Chargers are getting a steal. 12.) Miami Dolphins- Barkevious Mingo OLB, LSU- Mingo and the Dolphins are a great fit he can line up almost any where on the front seven and be productive. I made a bold prediction saying the dolphins would win the east in 2013 this is where it starts. 13.) Tampa Bay Buccaneers- Star Loutoui DT, Utah- Heart condition is an issue but a great asset to have if cleared. He reminds me of a Warren Sapp and its a story worth rooting for. 14.) Carolina Panthers- Ezeikel Ansah DE, Brigham Young- The man has Jason Pierre Paul ability and Carolina needs help on the defense. 15.) New Orleans Saints- Damontre Moore DE, Texas A&M- Where do I start on the Saints defense? I will say the have too much money tied up on the other side of the ball and need to go into the draft and get defensive players that will work. Moore could be great he needs time to develop but can defiantly help the Saints. -Stephen "MR. Combine" Moul |
