![]() For the next three months, my draft board will change approximately four-hundred times; players will climb, and fall. Teams will trade up and down...but for the sake of this topic heating up here is the first edition of my mock draft: 1. Kansas City Chiefs Luke Joekel: OT - Texas A&M It is unlikely for the Chiefs to re-sign Brandon Albert which will leave the Kansas City in a bind to take either Geno Smith or Luke Joekel, as of now my money is on Joekel. 2. Jacksonville Jaguars Geno Smith: QB - West Virginia The reason there is no Tim Tebow talk in Jacksonville is because the Jaguars are seriously considering Geno with the number two pick. He has the arm strength and the mechanics to be successful and could set a new precedent in Jacksonville. 3. Oakland Raiders Dee Millner: CB - Alabama He is the best on the board and fills a much needed hole in Oakland. The Charles Woodson of the draft in my opinion, and could help provide the instant impact that the Raiders need. 4. Philadelphia Eagles Bjoern Werner: DE - Florida State I actually see the Eagles trading down with this pick to acquire more pics but if they can't Werner is the best player on the board can step up and contribute on the defensive side of the ball day one. This is a talent over need pick for the Eagles. 5. Detroit Lions Star Loutoui: DT - Utah Once again people will raise their eyebrows but think about it like this, Cliff Avril is almost as good as gone in Detroit and the if the Opportunity presents itself to be able to have Suh and Star to plug the middle for the next few years i say this is a strong possibility. 6. Cleveland Browns Jarvis Jones: OLB - Georgia The Browns need help on the defensive side of the ball Jarvis Jones provides that plain and simple. I think if the Browns cannot get Dee Millner then Jones is there next on the board. 7. Arizona Cardinals Chance Warmack: OG - Alabama The Cardinals have been linked to every QB in free agency, so why wouldn't they draft one here? Simple, there isn't one on the board that they would feel comfortable spending this pick on and they probably are going to trade for one as well. Warmack is the best OL on the board and this is where I feel he would end up. 8. Buffalo Bills Eric Fisher: OT - Central Michigan Buffalo fans no reason to be disappointed Fisher is a great pick at this point. Some people would say reach I feel it's what the Bills need to help the running and passing game. Fisher is a safe pick. 9. New York Jets Barkveious Mingo: DE - LSU The jets are a value pick team, and they are getting a steal with Mingo many would say the Jets troubles are on the offensive side of the ball they still need to be productive on defense. 10. Tennessee Titans Lane Johnson: OT - Oklahoma The Titans need O-Line help, Lane Johnson provides that. CJ2K needs help getting to the outside to make plays, perfect fit for the Titans. ![]() 11. San Diego Chargers Sharrif Floyd: DT - Florida Stop the run! Is what should have been screamed last year from former chargers HC Norv Turner last season. The defense was neglected the past few years and if they wanna win defense is the answer. 12. Miami Dolphins Eddie Lacey: HB - Alabama The Dolphins could be losing Reggie Bush they will need a replacement. Lacey is the best RB in the draft and should be very productive in Miami. 13. Tampa Bay Buccaneers Damontre Moore: DE - Texas A&M Moore is going to be great the answer was where did he fit? My guess Tampa bay they want defensive play makers and if Moore slips to the Bucs this the perfect fit. 14. Carolina Panthers Kenny Vaccaro: SS - Texas Big hitter, explosive speed and this is just what the doctor ordered in Carolina. 15. New Orleans Saints Manti Teo: ILB - Notre Dame Here is where Teo slips right to N.O. They need a name on defense they have not had one in a while Manti off season issues aside provides that. Being catfished does not take away his ability, he can produce. 16. St Louis Rams Keenan Allen: WR - California Sam Bradford has, in my opinion, his last chance to be successful, so the Rams will give him every opportunity to have success starting with their first of two first round picks. 17. Pittsburgh Steelers Jonathon Cooper: OG - North Carolina While most people are pegging the Steelers to go with a defensive stud, I am not buying it. They need help protecting Big Ben, Cooper is a great value pick for the Steelers. 18. Dallas Cowboys Tyler Wilson: QB - Arkansas Jerry Jones does not want to lock up Romo long term, he is a Razorback himself, and anytime he can put an Arkansas QB to be the team leader you bet he is going to do it. Let's call this a Mr. Combine Guarantee. 19. New York Giants Jonathon Banks: CB - Mississippi State Banks and the Giants work out perfectly. The Giants have a terrible secondary, and banks who could shoot up draft boards after the combine could be taking earlier but my guess for now is the Giants. 20. Chicago Bears Jonathon Jenkins: DT - Georgia My sleeper is finally off the board! Jenkins has been pegged to go all over the first round where will he end up? My guess is in the Windy City. He provides size and strength with great power. Could there be another "fridge" in Chicago? 21. Cincinnati Bengals Barret Jones: OL - Alabama I'm not too confident with this pick there are more needs on the defensive side of the ball but I think they wanna build a line suitable for Dalton and his play style. Jones is the man for the job. 22. St Louis Rams (via Washington) Eric Reid: FS - LSU I see St Louis trading out this pick to acquire more assets (i.e. more picks), they do need a RB but due to the weak class I see them either going through free agency or drafting one in the second round. So, which leaves me to believe Eric Reid is there next pick the most underrated safety in the draft Reid will help Courtland and company in the secondary. 23. Minnesota Vikings Ryan Nassib: QB - Syracuse Pressure is on Ponder. A lot of people are questioning his ability to put up numbers and be accurate enough to win a championship. Nassib could be great needs a year but reminds me of a former Cuse QB that played for the Eagles. 24. Indianapolis Colts Xavier Rhodes: CB - Florida State The Colts are pretty well off on offense for now could use a RB but they need help in the secondary. Rhodes would be the best on the board at this point. 25. Seattle Seahawks Justin Hunter: WR - Tennessee I See Hunter moving up on the draft boards but I just do not see any other team taking a chance on him until Seattle picks. Pete Carroll could get the best out of him. 26. Green Bay Packers Terrance Willams: WR - Baylor The Packers are losing Donald Driver, Greg Jennings, and possibly Jermichal Finley. So anyone who doesn't think the Green Bay Packers are going offense have lost it. Perfect fit, Perfect pick. 27. Houston Texans Zach Ertz: TE - Stanford They have yet to find the perfect pairing for Andre Johnson in Houston, maybe it's not a WR. Zach Ertz was very productive for Stanford and could be a pretty decent blocker for Foster. 50/50. 28. Denver Broncos Dion Jordan: DE - Oregon Denver need secondary help... but if Jordan slips it would be hard not to take him here. 29. New England Patriots Matt Elam: S - Florida Pats fans, meet Matt Elam. He is not Dee Millner or Jonathon Banks but he is no slouch either. My idea is simple either keep dreaming with Ed Reed or be realistic with Elam. I like this pick. 30. Atlanta Falcons Alec Ogletree: ILB - Georgia Falcons need to stop the run Ogletree can provide that. If Ertz gets taking early Jesse Ogletree is the guy Atlanta will be looking for. FYI- this would be a free fall. 31. San Fransisco 49ers Sam Montgomery: OLB/DE - LSU It will be hard for the Super Bowl runner-ups to not take this outstanding talent at this point of round one. 32. Baltimore Ravens D.J. Fluker: OL - Stanford To win the Super Bowl and have Fluker slip is like hitting the lottery twice. Great fit. - Stephen "Mr.Combine" Moul |
