After 15 seasons in Boston we all thought he would retire a Celtic. However when Paul Pierce went to Brooklyn along with Kevin Garnett the basketball community took comfort knowing Pierce would remain with Kevin Garnett. Thursday Pierce left his long time friend and teammate and officially signed with the Wizards.

Pierce, who turns 37 is now apart of his third team in as many years. The future Hall of Famer
 averaged a career-low 13.5 points last season.
Stephenson & Stuckey

Almost immediately after the Indiana let Lance Stephenson run out of town, the Pacers signed free agent Rodney Stuckey to fill the void.

Details of the deal are still unclear, however sources close to the Pacers say the deal is only a year agreement. Stuckey averaged 13.9 points last season, his seventh season with the Detroit Pistons.

Stephenson's deal is far more clear at this point. The offensive star signed a three year $27 million contract with Charlotte today.

Boozer A Laker

The Los Angeles Lakers have acquired Carlos Boozer on amnesty waivers nine teams with cap space were able to make a blind bid to pick up the remaining portion of Boozer's $16.8 million deal with the Chicago Bulls. The Lakers won with a bid of $3.25 million, ESPN.com's Marc Stein reports.

Murder in Baltimore

A transgender woman found slain in Baltimore is the sibling of an NBA player.

Reggie Bullock of the Los Angeles Clippers confirmed last night that the transgender woman found murdered in Baltimore was indeed his sibling. Mia Henderson (age 26) as she was known by now was born Kevin Long.

Mia as reported by Baltimore PD was found in an alley dead early Wednesday. There are no suspects or possible motives as of this time.
Russell OK

NBA Hall of Famer Bill Russell is doing OK after collapsing during a speaking engagement yesterday near Lake Tahoe, Celtics officials said today.

Russell now age 80  reportedly felt faint after falling while telling a basketball tale about Wilt Chamberlin. He is said to be resting comfortably at his home in Seattle.
