In a Sunday matinée at McCoy Stadium, the Pawtucket Red Sox were finishing up their weekend series with the Columbus Clippers. The final score was 4-1 as the home team lost their third game in a row. Here's how some of the Red Sox prospects fared in that game.
Position Played: DH
Game Stats: 0-for-3, BB, K
Overall: Was given a break from playing right field after playing it during the last few games. Wasn’t a good day behind the plate, kept weakly hitting into groundouts. Last at of the game was good as he showed good plate discipline in drawing the walk.
Position Played: SS
Game Stats: 1-for-4, 2K
Overall: Struggled at the plate with the two strikeouts. Made an error in the top of the 3rd that allowed Clippers RF Jerry Sands to reach base.
Position Played: LF
Stats: 0-for-3, BB, K
Overall: Struggled at the plate like most of the other Red Sox batters. Played in left field for the 15th time today this season, looked really smooth and natural there. Made a few good catches, including one in the bottom of the 5th that robbed Clippers 3B Audry Ciriaco of a home run.
