It was a beautiful day for baseball at McCoy Stadium as 5,095 fans watched their Pawtucket Red Sox beat the Durham Bulls 9-5, the second game of their 3-game weekend series. PawSox Starter Pitcher Ross Ohlendorf went 5 2/3 innings, giving up 6 hits, 4 runs (all earned), striking out 4 and walking 1 and picked up the victory, his 3rd of the year. The PawSox offense was led by 3B prospect Will Middlebrooks, who went 2-5 with a monster home run in the 2nd and 2 RBIs. With that victory, the PawSox record increases to 12-5, including 5-3 at home in the early part of the 2012 season. The series closes up on Sunday at 1:05pm. Righty Justin Germano (1-1, 2.12) will take the mound for Pawtucket while righty Jhonny Nunnez (0-1, 3.86) will take the mound for Durham. -Ryan Fox |
