To recognize Veterans Day and honor those who have served in the United States Armed Forces, members of the Red Sox front office, including alumnus Sam Horn and Wally the Green Monster, will visit Veterans Hospitals and Homeless Shelters on Tuesday. Additionally, free tours of Fenway Park will be offered to all servicemen and women on Veterans Day. From 11 a.m. to 12:15 p.m., the Red Sox will visit the West Roxbury VA Hospital located at 1400 VFW Parkway (Building 3) in West Roxbury, MA. Later, from 1:30 to 2:45 p.m., the Red Sox will visit the Brockton VA Hospital in Brockton, MA, located at 940 Belmont Street. A visit to the Pine Street Inn, which provides Veterans Services that connect homeless and low-income individuals with housing opportunities, employment and community services, will take place from 4 p.m. to 5:15 p.m. The Red Sox will end the day by participating in the "Back On My Feet" Veterans Walk and Run event which starts in Government Center at 6 p.m. The Veterans Walk and Run works to prevent and end homelessness among those who have served and will help support the New England Center for Homeless Veterans. |
