Tom Brady has been vindicated in the nine-month long saga known as DeflateGate. U.S. District Court Judge Richard M. Berman issued his decision today in favor of the Patriots quarterback, allowing him to engage in football activities come September 10, when New England hosts Pittsburgh in the season opener. Ideal Gas Law, PSI, The Wells Report, The Deflator -- Each of these phrases are now obsolete, as Berman concluded that the NFL overstepped its bounds and showed little-to-no impartiality in commissioning Ted Wells to investigate the matter of deflated footballs at the 2015 AFC Championship game, or in the ensuing punishment which used Wells' investigation as its key evidence.
While Goodell and the NFL may still appeal this decision, Brady intends to get back to business, and seeks to add a fifth Super Bowl ring to his arsenal. It is unknown if Brady will play in Thursday's preseason finale against the Giants in Foxborough. Read Judge Berman's full decision |
