The toughest thing to decide on this list who makes it. The Emergence of the PG position has been an understated to say the least. So here is my list of the top five Point Guards in the league right now: #5 Kyrie Irving
Say what you want about this young star but he has Springfield written all over his face. This season alone he has averaged 22,5 PPG, 5.9 APG, and 1.5 SPG. He is the new face in Cleveland and the moment he gets another star player, he will be even better. #4 Rajon Rondo Injuries aside Rondo went into this season arguably the best PG in the game. He is a great defender who can make plays on offense. Traditionally that is all you can ask out of your PG. #3 Deron Williams A career average of 17 and 9 hard to argue why he is on this list. Deron is truly emerging as the leader of the Nets and has earned the #3 spot on my list. #2 Brandon Jennings People will hate me for this one, but Jennings is a top talent in the NBA not just as a PG. He makes plays and is an effective shooter. Another thing about jennings is his defense is extremely underrated. My pick at number two has to be Jennings. #1 Chris Paul The best Point Guard period. Paul has all the skills needed to be the prototype PG of the NBA. 16 and 9 career average along with 2.4 steals per game hard to argue that. Plus for a point guard he is a pretty good rebounder as well. #1 by a landslide. This list was strictly a fun top five just to give you my opinion on who I thought was the best PG were in the game right now. A few people I expect to make the list soon are Ricky Rubio and Damien Lillard. The point Guard is here and they are making an impact. -Stephen Moul |
