![]() Tuesday, April 23th was certainly a rough day for Boston Sports. The Red Sox lost 13-0 and have now dropped 3 out of the last four games. The Celtics had another second half collapse at the hands of the Knicks. Not to mention the Bruins lost 5-2 to the fliers. Overall Tuesday was a forgettable day in the world of Boston sports. The Red Sox had a rough day Tuesday. After jumping out to an early April division lead, the Sox have now dropped 3 out of their last four games. The Red Sox lost in pathetic fashion 13-0. Alfredo Aceves was the starting pitcher for Boston on Tuesday. He had arguably his worst outing in a Red Sox uniform. I believe it is time to cut ties with Mr. Aceves. He has a bad attitude and is one of the only hold overs from the cast of morons that contributed to the last two years of mayhem for the Sox.
The Bruins lost to the fliers 5-2 on Tuesday evening. Anton Khudobin was in net for Boston. He only managed to have 14 saves and gave up five goals to the Broad Street Bullies. Perhaps Tuukka Rask's stock maybe rising before the playoffs as Khodobin had his worst performance in goal all season with just three games left and playoff position still on the line. The Boston Celtics rounded out Tuesday's terrible Boston sports showings by losing to the Knicks and falling to 0-2 in the series. The Celtics looked good in the first half and had a 48-42 halftime lead. The Celtics were completely outclassed by the Knicks in the third quarter and were outscored 32-11 in this stretch. The Celtics have been down 0-2 ten times in their storied playoff history. Not once have they won a series when they have been done 0-2. The Knicks are playing very well at the moment. Carmelo Anthony and Jr. Smith have been a lethal scoring combination that the Celtics have not had any answers for. Even Kevin Garnett was a non-factor in game two; he was limited by foul trouble in the first half and was out muscled by the Knicks big men throughout the game. The Celtics will have their first home game since the Boston Marathon bombings on Friday. Hopefully the home crowd in the TD Garden will give the Celtics a much needed boost on Friday as the Celtics try to avoid being down 0-3 in the series. -Joe Passarelli |
