Members of the Rhode Island Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force arrested Bryan R. Lafreniere, age 32, of 10 Bullocks Point Avenue, Apartment 209, East Providence on Wednesday for Possession of Child Pornography and Transfer of Child Pornography. Mr. Lafreniere will be arraigned on the aforementioned charges after 11:30 AM this morning in Sixth Division District Court, Garrahy Judicial Complex, One Dorrance Plaza, Providence, Rhode Island. ICAC Task Force members recently initiated an undercover investigation of individuals trading images and videos of child pornography on the Internet. The Internet connection at 10 Bullocks Point Avenue, Apartment 209, East Providence, Rhode Island was identified as allegedly sharing videos and images of child pornography. This morning ICAC Task Force members executed a court-authorized search warrant at the East Providence residence. Task Force members identified child pornography on a computer within the residence and identified Mr. Lafreniere as the alleged owner of the computer and the images and videos of child pornography. The Rhode Island Department of Health (HEALTH) and the Providence Police Department are continuing their investigation into the remains of eight individuals found at Pennine Funeral Home near Broadway in Providence last week. Of the remains found at Pennine Funeral Home, six were bodies and two were the remains from cremations. HEALTH has tentatively identified four of the six bodies. Colonel Steven G. O'Donnell, Superintendent of the Rhode Island State Police and Commissioner of Public Safety, announced that on Saturday, July 26th, Troopers assigned to the Hope Valley Barracks conducted a motor vehicle stop for a traffic violation on Route 95 South in the Town of Richmond.
As a result of the motor vehicle stop, Troopers seized two 6-ounce jars of Hash Oil, THC Wax and under an ounce of marijuana which resulted in the arrest of both the operator and passenger on narcotics charges. The future of a new Federal Hill establishment is in question following a unanimous vote but the Providence Board of Licenses to suspend the license of The $3 Bar on Atwells Avenue in Providence.
The bar, which sells all of its drinks and food items for three dollars, has had a series of recent incidents involving violence, one in which resulted in the death of a 34-year old man. |
