Another day another dollar, as they say. Has no bearing on today however, it's just time for another installment of Comedy On Us! Vol 46! Which means two things, one, there is a brand new episode of the live podcast with a very special guest. And, two, there are way less news letters than episodes. So we have a lot to cover below.
Budweiser released an exclusive digital video to raise awareness for drunk-driving prevention. Unlike previous spots from Anheuser-Busch’s flagship beer brand, the online-only content carries a more emotional tone and portrays how having a plan to get home safe can result in a positive ending. Anheuser-Busch and Budweiser believe drunk driving is 100 percent preventable when adults make a plan to get home safe. However, lives are still lost in drunk driving-related crashes every year. The “Friends are Waiting” video opens with the deep bond between two best friends—Luke and his dog Cooper—and culminates with Cooper’s reaction when Luke doesn't come home after a night out. “Friendship, camaraderie and enjoying great times are at the heart of Budweiser’s most popular campaigns, and this video maintains that tradition but with an unexpected twist,” said Brian Perkins, vice president, Budweiser. “Budweiser is known for connecting with beer drinkers in memorable ways, and our efforts to promote responsible drinking through this video are no exception.” They were known simply as "The Lost Boys."
Orphaned by the brutal civil war in Sudan, which began in 1983, these young victims traveled as many as a thousand miles on foot in search of safety. The name is Han, Misha Han. No, he's not the next man to play 007, but rather the next comedian to be The Comedy Studio's October 2014 Resident. He joined Dan Martin and Bruce Botelho Jr. this past Comic's Corner episode and boy the laughs were a plenty.

Hello! And welcome to another installment of Comedy On Us! Our de facto news letter, our forty-fifth installment in facto! And for that we thank you, keep reading and we will keep complaining humorously. The past few weeks have been hectic in the global social and celebrity circles and this coming week will prove to be hectic for Television nerds as well. Sons Of Anarchy is back, Agents of Shield premiers tonight, as I live and type! Gotham has splashed up on HULU, South Park is tomorrow for god's sake. Thank the good lord there is at least two weeks before we need to dodge Walking Dead spoilers on Spoil-Book. Tragic things have happened in the funny world of comedy and Comic's Corner is here pushing on, making comedy with comedians talking about comedy. It's so esoteric, we don't even get it. Drop in below to get a peek at what has been and will be, then tune in and enjoy the organized chaos. Children living in a refugee camp in Jordan go to school, kick soccer balls on a playground and watch movies on a big screen, thanks, in part, to Mercy Corps, a global relief organization with a University of Rhode Island connection.
Robert Maroni, 50, a URI graduate who grew up in Warwick, is the nonprofit’s country director in Jordan, where he’s lived for the last four years with his wife and children. |
