The 24 Hour Music Project will take place over two 12 hour recording sessions held on August 18th and 19th at Castle Entertainment in Providence. The project will involve the best writers, rappers, and musicians from around New England and more. The purpose of the project is to make a totally organic album created within the 24 Hour time frame where the proceeds of the album will benefit Day One RI and victims of domestic violence and violent crime. There will be auditions held in July. Please join this event for more information. This is what we are looking for…you play a musical instrument well enough to be comfortable with jamming and to be willing to be featured on a CD distributed and sold to benefit non profit domestic violence organizations as well as families directly impacted by DV. Most importantly we are looking for people able to work well with others, who are able to set aside ego, and let their minds go to a place musically they never thought that they may be able to go. There will be a videographer and photographer there so naturally you will need to be willing to sign a release for those as well. If you would like to share your personal story with the group feel free. We want this to be as inspired as possible. What will you receive?: You will receive full credit for participation in the project. There will also be a benefit concert where all musicians will be invited to perform the songs that were recorded on the album itself. I will be providing food, water, beer, and snacks. There are over 50 musicians already interested in the project so anyone willing to bring additional snacks or drinks is more than welcome to. Please feel free to bring beverages or food of your choice if you are ravenous. How will it be executed?: We will have a rotating schedule of musicians so no one needs to feel obligated to be there the full 12 hours each day but you are more than welcome to. There will be a drum set there so drummers need not bring their sets with them. We hope that when musicians hear something really amazing going on they pick up their instruments and just jump in.We are looking for all types of musical instruments, if you can play it, bring it on! Auditions: 7:30pm at the Spot Underground in Providence, RI on July 17th. Musicians will be expected to hop up on stage and showcase their style. What we don’t want: Nothing should be rehearsed. Why? The 24 Hour Project will benefit Day One RI which is an organization that truly helps victims within the first 24 hours after an attack of violent crime and ensures that they receive ongoing care. As a victim, you don’t know what to do within those 24 hours and neither will we so let’s do something unexpected and raw! Where is this located?: Castle Entertainment: 40 Sonoma CT, Providence, RI. You will have to go up the stairs and then through the show room to the back where you will see two doors and a wooden “Castle” sign. What time will this start?: August 18th 12pm-12am August 19th 12pm-12am Click Here For MoreComments are closed.
