Monday is here once again which means its another fantastic night of 990WBOB's Mondays On Blast!!! Featuring the absolute best in live New England music along with hilarious comedy hosted by Doug Key, start your week off right at The Spot on 101 Richmond Street or log on to 990WBOB.COM to listen in to the live broadcast starting at 9pm. Sun Bears: A progressive band from southern Rhode Island with a gnarly sound, Sun Bears bring Zappa-esque instrumental progressive rock sounds that promise to take you to another dimension. A certain treat to see live, they'll be starting things off at The Spot tonight so come early. For a taste of what to expect, check out their BandCamp page and listen to their Celestial Embryo EP.

Kooked Out: Mix the sweet sounds of surf guitar with the grit of the blues and the aggression of punk rock and you get Kooked Out. This duo has crafted their sound by taking influences from the likes of instrumental surf music, 70s punk rock, psychedelic rock, and the raw blues. The guitar tones are similar to those found on the records of surf greats, such as, Dick Dale and The Ventures. The groovy surf beats compliment the driving bass. Brainfruit: Brainfruit has been around since early 2010. They're a loud band from a very small place called Riverside, RI. For the past 3 years the band has been growing steadily and writing new music, as well as playing many shows throughout Providence, Rhode Island. They'll be rocking tonight's Mondays On Blast and it's gonna be awesome.

The Can't Nots: 990WBOB approved, groovy and highly amplified rock & rollers The Can't Nots will be blowing the roof off the The Spot on Monday. Gary Wilkinson's rhythmic drumming, Bobby Brierly's snarling guitar and Naomi Lee's amazingly soulful voice will captivate you and blow your mind. No pun intended, but these guys are one band that you just can't not miss. The Can't Nots have a brand new EP titled Radio Pudding that they'll have available tonight so make sure you grab a copy.
