Monday once again is shortly approaching which means its another fantastic night of 990WBOB's Mondays On Blast!!! Featuring the absolute best in live New England music along with hilarious comedy hosted by Doug Key, start your week off right at The Spot on 101 Richmond Street or log on to 990WBOB.COM to listen in to the live broadcast starting at 9pm. With a wide variety of beers & mixed drinks, tasty food and excellent vibes, it's a no-brainer that The Spot is the place to be every Monday to get your weekly dose of entertainment. Check out who we have playing this week: Mr. Whodo: Acoustic Americana folk quartet Mr. Whodo will be rocking the stage this Monday for what should be a soothingly amazing experience. Playing bars all over New England, these guys will remind you of iconic musicians like Bruce Springsteen, Tom Petty, Townes Van Zandt and Neil Young with their great array of originals and covers that will hit straight to your soul. For more information on Mr. Whodo and for a sneak peek of what they sound like, check out their Facebook page right here. Nymphidels: A powerfully spectacular alt-rock duo consisting of Pat Flanagan on drums and Jess Moroney on guitar and vocals, The Nymphidels are huge favorites of ours at 990WBOB and when they turn up the volume on Monday you'll find out why. Groovy tunes that harken back to alt-rock's glory days of the 90's, once you hear this duo perform you will definitely be hooked. The Nymphidels current have their EP, A Band In Places, available and feel free to ask Jess and Pat about it after they play. The Pabst Blue Grass Boys: A fairly new band in the local scene here in Providence and a group of guys who are obviously big fans of drinking Pabst Blue Ribbon and playing bluegrass music, The Pabst Bluegrass Boys will be on stage this Monday for an experience you don't want to miss. Featuring Blind Rob McBain, Grandpa Martin and Slim Whitman, these guys have played anywhere whether it was Waterfire, a Street corner, Farmers Market or even elevator. These good ol' boys will be at The Spot blasting it up and you can hear their music along with figuring out where they'll be next on their Facebook page right here. For The Love Of Sloane: A great alt-rock band that has been tearing up the music scene in Rhode Island for what seems like ages now, For The Love Of Sloane featuring Jay Jefferson on drums, Michelle Salguiero on bass, Stephen Moniz on guitar and Elese Morrone on vocals are surely bound to blow you away. They each have their own influences and styles that combine the fun and edgy essence of punk, the emotion of a ballad, and the resonating power of rock. Mix it all together and their music will stay in your head while you are in the shower, driving around, or just walking down the street, and you are glad it does. As with every Monday at The Spot with 990WBOB, a great time is always guaranteed. Check out 990WBOB's Mondays On Blast page or the Mondays On Blast Facebook event page for more information on what bands will be playing in the future at the ultimate destination to kick the week off right.
