Rangers' goalie Henrik Lundqvist was brilliant in Game 2 of the NHL's Eastern Conference Finals, stopping 40 shots and withstanding Montreal's initial surge in New York's 3-1 win. Lundqvist has won five consecutive playoff games and the Rangers now lead the series, 2-0, heading back to New York for Game 3. Michael Parente We figured the storyline in the Montreal-New York Eastern Conference Finals would shift to goaltending the moment Chris Kreider crashed into Carey Price in Game 1.
Who knew we’d be talking about the guy on the other end of the ice? As much as this series is now about who is and isn’t playing in net for the Canadiens with Price done for the season, the focal point might end up being Rangers’ goalie Henrik Lundqvist, who has been nothing short of magnificent since New York trailed Pittsburgh, 3 games to 1, two weeks ago in the conference semifinals. The NBA lottery is a crazy unique concept designed to prevent teams from tanking their way through a season. This year's ping pong ball selection was exceptional, considering two of the league's biggest markets had a lifeless season.
The NBA's Charlotte franchise officially returned to its roots on Tuesday, dispensing the moniker Bobcats, opting to a return to the more familiar name: Hornets.
PawSox Skipper Kevin Boles sits down with the media for postgame interview Ryan Fox (@Scoop_Fox87) It was a heartbreaking loss as the PawSox lost to the RailRiders 5-3 in extra innings. PawSox SP Allen Webster (#22) pitched a strong game but it wasn't enough as team lost in extra innings to the RailRiders Ryan Fox (@Scoop_Fox87) It was another glorious spring evening here at McCoy as the Pawtucket Red Sox squared off against the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders. Yesterday the PawSox dropped a heartbreak 3-2 game to the RailRiders in a midday showdown between the two teams. Jets' fans are typically harsh when it comes to which players their team picks on draft day, but our own Daniel Soden says New York was one of several teams that made all the right moves in this year's draft. Daniel Soden Right off the bat, the biggest winner of the 2014 NFL draft is the NFL. Between NFL Network and ESPN, the draft drew a combined total of 32 million viewers for the first round alone. This is up 28 percent over last year’s 25 million total viewers for the first round.
The buzz around the draft got extended a bit this year, which, to some degree, makes the players, fans, and media the losers, but it only helped fuel the fire that was Johnny Manziel. If Manziel was the talk of the first round, Missouri defensive end Michael Sam owned the rest of the draft. Sam made a bold statement prior to the draft process this year when he announced he was, indeed, a homosexual male, instantly becoming the first openly gay male to potentially be drafted. Sam was taken in the seventh round by the St. Louis Rams and the buzz about him and his future in the NFL hasn’t stopped. Kevin Durant (#35) and the Thunder will square off against Tim Duncan (#21) and the Spurs in the Western Conference Finals Ryan Fox (@Scoop_Fox87) And then there were 2 teams left in the NBA Western Conference as the young guns of the Oklahoma City Thunder take on the defending conference champion San Antonio Spurs. This will be the second time in three years that these two teams have met in the postseason.

He's nearly 37-years old, his point-per-game scoring has decreased in each of the last three seasons, and he made more than $15 million this year; but Paul Pierce could prove be the missing piece to the Celtics' rebuild machine. |
