JAGR CLIMBS RECORD BOOK, LEADS DEVILS TO VICTORY IN MILESTONE GAME

Jaromir Jagr (1-1-2) recorded a goal and an assist to lead the New Jersey Devils to a 2-1 victory against the Carolina Hurricanes. With his fifth multipoint game of the season, Jagr passed Marcel Dionne for sole possession of fifth place on the all-time NHL points list with 1,772 (710-1,062-1,772). Jagr also skated in his 1,500th career NHL game, passing Mike Modano for sole possession of 15th place on the all-time games played list. Jagr’s 1,062 career assists are one shy of tying Steve Yzerman for seventh place on the all-time NHL assists list.

* Cory Schneider made a season-high 39 saves to improve to 11-12-3 this season with a 2.50 goals-against average and a .918 save percentage. Schneider has appeared in 27 of the Devils’ 28 games this season, more than any goaltender in the NHL, and has been in net for all 11 Devils wins.

* Scott Gomez (0-2-2) recorded his first two points of the season in his fourth game. Gomez’s last multipoint performance in a regular-season game was on March 9, 2013, as a member of the San Jose Sharks (1-1-2).

* Adam Henrique (1-0-1) scored the game-winning goal on a power play in the second period. The goal was Henrique’s second game-winning goal of the season (Nov. 21 vs. EDM).
KLEIN SCORES OVERTIME WINNER FOR RANGERS

Kevin Klein scored the overtime winner to lift the New York Rangers to a 4-3 victory against the Pittsburgh Penguins. The Rangers improved to 12-10-4 and have earned at least a point in eight consecutive games against Metropolitan Division opponents, posting a 7-0-1 record over that span.

* Dating to a 6-1 victory against the Penguins on April 3, 2013, the Rangers have earned at least one point in eight of their past nine regular-season games vs. Pittsburgh (5-1-3), including a home record of 4-0-1.

* Klein’s overtime goal was his second overtime and third game-winning goal of the season. He has three game-winning goals in 25 games this season after scoring two in his previous 433 games. Klein is tied for first among NHL defensemen in game-winning goals (3), even-strength goals (6) and overtime goals (2).

* Rick Nash (1-0-1) scored his team-leading 18th goal. The goal extended his point streak to eight games (6-3-9), which stands as the longest point streak by a Rangers player this season and is one game shy of his career-best point streak of nine games (9-7-16) set from Dec. 30, 2005, to Jan. 16, 2006. Nash leads the Rangers in points this season with 28 (18-10-28) and ranks second in the League in goals.

* Henrik Lundqvist made 32 saves to earn his 10th win. Lundqvist has a 5-1-3 record with a 2.02 goals-against average, a .932 save percentage and one shutout in his past nine regular-season appearances against the Penguins, including a 4-0-1 record at Madison Square Garden.

* Martin St. Louis (0-1-1) recorded his 11th assist. St. Louis has at least a point in seven of his past eight regular-season games against the Penguins, registering nine points (2-7-9) over the span.

* Derick Brassard (0-1-1) recorded his team-leading 14th assist. Brassard has at least a point in four straight games and six of the past seven. He is second behind Nash in points with 22 (8-14-22).

BRODEUR WINS FIRST HOME GAME WITH BLUES

Martin Brodeur made 32 saves to backstop the St. Louis Blues to a 4-2 win against the visiting Florida Panthers. The Blues improved to 18-8-2 (38 points) and are first in the Central Division. St. Louis is 14-1-0 this season when scoring three or more goals and have earned at least a point in six consecutive home games (5-0-1).

* The victory was Brodeur’s first home win as a member of the Blues and second this season. Signed on Dec. 2, Brodeur recorded his first win with St. Louis on Dec. 6 when he relieved Jake Allen after the first period and backstopped the Blues to a 6-4 victory against the New York Islanders. Brodeur, who spent his entire 21-year career with the New Jersey Devils before this season, is the NHL’s all-time leader among goaltenders in games played (1,261), wins (690) and shutouts (124). Brodeur’s 32 saves were his most since he had 33 in a 3-0 shutout Dec. 14, 2013, against the Tampa Bay Lightning.

* Chris Porter (1-1-2) scored the game-winner on his first goal of the season. He also earned his first assist of the season. It was the third multipoint game of Porter’s career, first since April 4, 2013, vs. the Chicago Blackhawks (0-2-2).

* Vladimir Tarasenko (0-1-1) recorded his 13th assist. Tarasenko leads the Blues in points with 30 (17-13-30) and ranks sixth in the League.
