The Providence College men's basketball was defeated by Brown, 77-67, on Monday, Dec. 8 at the Dunkin' Donuts Center. The Friars move to 6-3, while the Bears record improves to 5-6 on the season. Senior forward LaDontae Henton (Lansing, Mich.) and sophomore guard Kris Dunn (New London, Conn.) each recorded the game-high 16 points. Henton grabbed eight boards in total, while Dunn contributed eight assists. The end of the first half finished with a tie, 30-30. Henton led Providence in points with nine and picked up four boards. Cedric Kuakumensah picked up 10 of Brown's 30 points. Brown held the biggest lead in the first half with eight points (17-9). The game saw eight ties and three lead changes. For the game, Providence shot 62 percent from the line (13-21) and 40 percent from the field (25-63). Brown was led by Leland King with 16 points and four rebounds. The Friars will return to action on Wednesday, Dec. 10 when they host Rhode Island on Fox Sports Net/Cox OSN. It will be the second of four consecutive home games. |
