A pitcher in the Baltimore Orioles' minor league system has been suspended for 50 games following a positive test for a banned substance. The Office of the Commissioner of Baseball announced today that Baltimore Orioles Minor League right-handed pitcher Eduardo Gamboa has received a 50-game suspension without pay after testing positive for exogenous Testosterone, a performance-enhancing substance in violation of the Minor League Drug Prevention and Treatment Program. Gamboa is the 31st player to be supended in 2014 for use of banned substances. The suspension of Gamboa, who is currently on the roster of the Triple-A Norfolk Tides of the International League, is effective immediately.
