The Red Sox today activatd outfielder Shane Victorino from the disabled list. Victorino had been rehabbing his strained right hamstring at triple A Pawtucket. On the DL since late May Vitorino had suffered a setback during his last rehab attempt in June. The veteran sustained a slip disc in his back. To make room for Victorino on the roster the Sox optioned rookie Mookie Betts back to the minors. The young slugger was batting .235 in just 35 at bats.
