What to Watch for in Week 3 as NFL Futures Odds Hang in the Balance

The Seattle Seahawks are in serious trouble of going 1-2 after winning the Super Bowl back in February.
The New Orleans Saints and Indianapolis Colts are 0-2, and the Buffalo Bills are 2-0. Yep, it’s been a wild start to the NFL season, and that’s without even mentioning the number of star players that find themselves dealing with major scandals or major injuries after just two weeks.
With that in mind, it’s time to look ahead at Week 3 and consider which games have the potential to impact the latest2014-15 NFL futures odds. And lucky for fans, there are some juicy ones. In Seattle, the Seahawks will look to repeat the stomping of the Denver Broncos that they laid on in Super Bowl XLVIII. And despite some tough moments in their first two games, they seem more than capable of doing so. It took a Herculean effort from Antonio Gates to beat Seattle on Sunday, and while the Broncos have a superstar tight end of their own in Julius Thomas, it would be foolish to bet against the Seahawks secondary two weeks in a row.

The winner of that game will almost certainly become the outright favorite to win Super Bowl XLIX.
Meanwhile, two other NFC West teams, the San Francisco 49ers and Arizona Cardinals, will face off in a
game that could easily define the division.

The Arizona Cardinals look deadly through two games, especially after they managed to get by Eli Manning and the Giants without their starting quarterback Carson Palmer, who was out with anerve
issue.
If the Cards can get their first-string signal caller back behind center in Week 3 this may be the
Cardinals game to lose.

San Francisco has been hot and cold while going 1-1 thus far, and a dominant performance from Arizona’s big three receivers (Larry Fitzgerald, Michael Floyd, and John Brown) would likely be enough to stay ahead of a 49er offense that is averaging 24 points a game thus far.

If those two heavyweight battles aren't enough, get your weekend started early with Thursday Night
Football featuring the Buccaneers and Falcons. The Bucs have not been the breakout team many
expected through two games, but a win against their divisional rivals would vault them right back into
the mix in a division that is still wide open.
