Growing up, we learn to idolize people who stand above and beyond. Being a millennial, I was not around when greats such as Hank Aaron, Mickey Mantle, etc. played. However, certain players are known to the younger generations anyway. Their legacy lives on, because they are inducted into Major League Baseball’s Hall of Fame. Nowadays, the players I grew up watching are retiring, and a select few have had their names on the Hall of Fame ballot to be recognized as one of the greats of all time. I do not have a Hall of Fame vote, but I do have an opinion on which players should get in and why
It is what it is. The table hasn't even been cleared yet from Thanksgiving and we are all out fighting for the very best Black Friday deals. Acting as if we are some sort of Christmas Commandos on the hunt for gifting justice. In reality we are just well, pathetic. In the spirit of the hunt or the good fight we thought up Hollywood's rendition of the top Christmas warriors. Action heroes who's main fight coincided with the most wonderful time of the year.

They gobble. We gobble, then we wobble. It's Thanksgiving in America (silly Canadians have theirs in October -- the Hosers!) and with that comes the four "F's" -- Family, Food, Football, and Fighting (in my house, at least). There will be turkey, and stuffing, and cranberry, and potato, and gravy, and pie (mmm, pie) -- plus Lions, and Steelers, and Saints. So, with so much happening in one afternoon, how could we possibly determine what features are best about Thanksgiving? Here is your definitive list -- The 990WBOB Thanksgiving Power Rankings

It's time to loosen the belt fill your belly with delicious dishes and take in some lack luster NFL action. Yes it's once again Thanksgiving and the boring, predictable, penalty filled, action-less National Football League gives us the gift of poor competition. Seriously how anyone could watch a game like Florida vs. LSU or Michigan State and OSU and still tell me the NFL is a better product, would be a complete moron. The Pats vs. 49ers, Cowboys vs. Ravens and Steelers vs Browns all were easily predicted and lacked any on field drama what so ever. On the heels of news that the number of roadway fatalities nationwide is higher than it’s been since 2009, Attorney General Peter F. Kilmartin today previewed legislation he intends to refile that will increase penalties for those who are convicted of killing or injuring individuals while driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs. In addition, Kilmartin announced his intention to refile legislation that would extend the so-called “look back” period on repeat alcohol-related from five years to 10 years.
“Choosing to get behind the wheel of a motor vehicle while intoxicated or impaired on drugs is like playing with a loaded firearm - it’s dangerous and often deadly,” said Attorney General Peter Kilmartin. “Every individual who gets behind the wheel of a motor vehicle while intoxicated is knowingly risking their own life and the life of others on the roads. The penalties for such a deadly and callous decision should reflect the seriousness of the act, and there can be nothing more serious than taking the life of another.” |
