Pawtucket's Bucket Brewery announced Friday that it will be shuttering its doors in the coming months, and their brewing facility will be put up for sale as a turn-key operation. In an email sent to members of the Rhode Island Brewer's Guild, Bucket Brewery founder Nate Broomfield announced the facility's closure, citing business challenges. "From the start, it's been a challenge to keep things going, but too much has piled up for me to be able to operate any longer," said Broomfield. "We'll be open for a while longer while we work through our existing stock, but will not be brewing to replace any of it."

On September 1, 2018, the New England Patriots began their quest to defend their Super Bowl Title and to repeat as champions. Now on January 21, 2018, they were one game away from going to Minneapolis, Minnesota, for Super Bowl LII. Coming into Foxborough were the young, red hot Jacksonville Jaguars looking to shock the world with an upset of New England for their first Super Bowl trip in franchise history. However despite Jacksonville's best efforts, QB Tom Brady would not be denied his 8th Super Bowl appearance.
The Governor's proposed "Keep Going" FY2019 budget stands in stark contrast to the successful path to prosperity blazed by the federal government via tax and regulatory reductions in the past year.
"In perpetuating a stagnant economic status quo for Rhode Island, this budget includes a number of new revenue schemes, even while the Administration claims there are no broad based tax hikes," said Mike Stenhouse, CEO for the RI Center for Freedom & Prosperity. "Treading water simply is not good enough for a state that ranks in the bottom-10 in multiple broad, national indexes: business climate, Family Prosperity Index, Jobs & Opportunity Index, and in regulatory burdens."
In an interview with Dan Yorke Wednesday, Rhode Island gubernatorial candidate, Giovanni Feroce spoke out against the lack of financial literacy within the general assembly, specifically calling out Rep. Moira Walsh.
"You want controversy, I’ll give you controversy right out of this show. We think it’s good that a waitress is voting on a 9 and a half billion dollar budget," Feroce remarked. "That is crazy. That is crazy to me." Watch Feroce's full interview below |
